The GEWINDEQUICK product family has been expanded. The new thread cutting machine GQ-4 is the perfect solution for cutting tiny threads sized M0.5 to M4. The GQ-4 rounds off the GEWINDEQUICK product program which includes the GQ-6 and GQ-10 models that were introduced over a year ago.
Cutting small threads is extremely critical. A piece of swarf can easily get jammed in and cause the tap to break. Torque monitoring almost completely eliminates the risk of tap breakages. The smaller motor of the Gewindequick GQ-4 reacts even more sensitively to changes during the cutting process and stops even quicker once the pre-set torque limit has been achieved.
As by the two larger thread cutting machines, it is important that the smallest possible force is applied in the Z axis i.e. towards the tap. As no lead spindle or guide heads are used, the tap pulls itself into the workpiece being machined. The drive unit with the tap are brought into a state of suspension. This can be even better realised with the smaller and lighter motor of the GQ-4.
The tap is not held with a quick-release chuck but with a collet chuck. This holds the smaller taps even more precisely.
